Job summary

Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting. You will work with the Corporate Controller and finance team to maintain accurate records and assist with accounting processes across the organization.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in a fast-paced defense technology company. You will handle reconciliations, AP processing, reporting support, and budgeting activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1+ year of accounting experience including internships or entry-level roles.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial statements.
• Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enter financial data in QuickBooks and internal systems.
• Support accounts payable including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination.
• Assist with reconciliations, expense reporting, and verification.
• Prepare and maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities.
• Assist with journal entries and financial data reviews under the guidance of the Corporate Controller.
• Track project costs, labor charges, and program-related financial activity.
• Generate reports and financial summaries for leadership and program teams.
• Review accounting data for discrepancies or inconsistencies and elevate issues as needed.
• Support budget preparation, forecasting activities, and internal financial analysis.
• Assist with audit preparation and collection of supporting financial documentation.
• Maintain spreadsheets, tracking systems, and finance-related administrative tools.
• Provide operational and administrative support to the finance organization as needed.
