Job summary

Jobot is hiring a Staff Accountant in Bloomington, IN to join our technology company with a long-standing presence in Indiana. You will manage accounts payable, assist with monthly and quarterly close, and prepare financial reports using Excel for analysis and decision support.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least 2 years of relevant experience, strong Excel skills, and attention to detail to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience focusing on month-end, AP, and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in Excel and advanced functions.

Responsibilities

• Examine and approve accounts payable invoices, ensuring payments are accurate and on time.
• Ensure regulatory compliance including tax laws and financial reporting standards.
• Use Excel to create spreadsheets, charts, and reports to aid in financial analysis.
• Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting procedures and operations.
• Handle month-end journal entries.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
