Job summary

NorthPoint Search Group is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the CFO and Controller in a dynamic HVAC and mechanical contracting environment. You will manage the general ledger, service contract accounting, reconciliations, and finance reporting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 4 years of relevant experience, with strong Excel and Power BI skills. Onsite role in Duluth, GA with occasional travel and outside-hours flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience (service or construction industry preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel; Power BI preferred.
• Experience with accounting software; COINS ERP+ or other ERP systems preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.
• Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal hours and travel infrequently as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries in the general ledger and job cost system.
• Manage Service Contract accounting and commissions.
• Handle intercompany accounting and reporting.
• Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Perform balance sheet and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Provide monthly financial performance analysis versus budget/forecast.
• Support audits with required documentation.
