Job summary

Equus Workforce Solutions is seeking an accounting professional in Houston to perform reconciliations, analyze monthly activity, and support audit preparations. The role requires solid Excel and general ledger familiarity, with Oracle knowledge preferred.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting and has 1–2 years of accounting experience, capable of multitasking under deadlines while ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• 1–2 years accounting experience preferred.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and related accounting/payroll systems.
• Knowledge of Oracle preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
• Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Performs account reconciliations, trend analysis, and analyzes for completeness
• Researches information requests and responds to issues involving general ledger accounts
• Reconcile corporate balance sheet accounts and perform analytical reviews of monthly activity
• Assist in the preparation of corporate schedules for annual audit performed by external auditors
• Prepares journal entries, generates reports, and participates in related monthly accounting activities to ensure timely ledger close
• Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
• Assists in special projects, as assigned
