Job summary

Elior North America is seeking an Accountant in Houston, TX with strong general ledger and lease accounting experience. The role supports month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, and analytical tasks to ensure accurate financial results.

Collaboration with Accounting, Finance and other teams is essential to drive insights and business decisions. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, expertise in lease accounting, and solid Excel/ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• 3+ years progressive accounting experience including GL and month-end close.
• Experience with lease accounting and reviewing lease agreements.
• Experience in financial analysis including variance/trend analysis.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and account reconciliations.
• ERP experience with SAP or Microsoft Dynamics GP.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger areas and prepare journal entries per GAAP.
• Own and reconcile balance sheet accounts (leases, accruals, fixed assets, intercompany).
• Review lease agreements and support lease accounting activities (classification, measurement, reporting).
• Support month-end/year-end close ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Analyze financial results and variances to inform budgeting/forecasting.
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve intercompany variances.
• Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and schedules for audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on special projects and ad hoc analyses.
