Job summary

West Virginia Public Broadcasting is seeking a Staff Accountant to provide financial administration and support to the Financial Office. Responsibilities include accounting for assets, liabilities, and P&L, handling accounts payable/receivable, and maintaining reports for audits.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting (or substantial related experience) and strong knowledge of GAAP, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; 3+ years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software; ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.
• Maintain general ledger and prepare balance sheets, income statements, and P&L statements.
• Reconcile bank accounts and cash disbursement accounts; manage receivables collections.
• Coordinate with software vendors and maintain accounting software systems; support annual audits.
• Prepare tax forms and assist with budget estimates and expenditure analyses.
