Job summary

West Virginia Public Broadcasting is seeking a Financial Accounting Manager to oversee budgeting, reporting, and compliance for all operations in the Beckley/Charleston area. The role leads the business office team to ensure strong financial controls and accurate reporting to affiliated boards.

The position partners with nonprofits supporting WV Public Broadcasting and oversees external audits. Remote work is not allowed; limited travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or another relevant field.
• Five years’ experience in accounting, business administration or management with a focus on budget oversight.
• Work experience in state government and/or the nonprofit sector.
• Knowledge and interest in public broadcasting.

West Virginia Public Broadcasting is looking for individuals to fill the full-time position of Financial Accounting Manager. The Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for the administration, oversight, and financial management of all operations of West Virginia Public Broadcasting including but not limited to budgeting, reporting, and compliance. They will lead the business office team operations in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and ensure strong financial controls. The Financial Accounting Manager will work with the nonprofits that support West Virginia Public Broadcasting by providing financial information and reports to the affiliated boards. The Financial Accounting Manager will oversee and be responsible for the external audit.

This job opportunity is not a Civil Service position and is not covered under the Administrative Rule of the WV Division of Personnel. The state of West Virginia offers competitive benefits.

Remote work is not permitted. Limited travel is required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or another relevant field
• Five years’ experience in accounting, business administration or management with a focus on organizational leadership and budget oversight
• Work experience in state government and/or the nonprofit sector
• Knowledge and interest in public broadcasting

Preferred Education and Experience

• Master’s degree, or related experience.
• WVOASIS experience
• Previous experience in accounting and finance.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $68,000 – $75,000. This is a Full-Time, Exempt (40 hours/week, M-F) salaried position. Benefits offered — medical, dental, eye, and state retirement.
