Miller Electric Company in the Jacksonville area is seeking a Staff Accountant to maintain financial records, reconcile accounts, and support state and local tax compliance. You will assist with month‑end close, file sales and use tax returns, and manage property tax filings while upholding accuracy and integrity.

The role requires 3–4 years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and ERP systems.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 3–4 years of accounting and tax experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger structure.
• Experience with sales & use tax.
• Proficiency with Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Preferred experience with COINS (ERP Construction Software).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
• Investigate and resolve variances in a timely manner.
• Maintain organized documentation supporting all reconciliations.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes
• Prepare journal entries with appropriate support.
• Assist in preparation of audit schedules for external auditors.
• Research tax law and answer internal tax questions related to ongoing projects.
• Maintain a compliance calendar to manage deadlines and reduce penalty risk.
