Job summary

Tecomet, Inc. in Michigan is seeking a Staff Accountant to produce timely financial information for management and external users.

You will report to the Financial Reporting Manager and collaborate with the accounting team across 18 US sites to support corporate, site-level and company-wide initiatives. The role requires analyzing, interpreting, and reporting financial data, while adhering to Tecomet’s continuous improvement and customer-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 1–3 years of progressive accounting experience requested.
• Big 4 or large national firm experience is a plus.
• Manufacturing accounting background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
• Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts (capital projects, inventory, prepaid expenses, accruals).
• Oversee intercompany balances, monthly charges and reconciliations.
• Oversee inventory cycle counts and variances.
• Understand accounting cycles to support internal controls.
• Support external audits as required.
• Continually improve the Finance function and reduce waste.
• Manage specialized projects independently or with a team.
• Additional duties as requested by supervisor.
