Job summary

Carl Buddig and Company is seeking a Staff Accountant at our Tinley Park, IL office. The role supports journal entries, account reconciliations, daily batch posting, accounts payable, and month‑end close, working with accounting, finance, operations and other teams to ensure accurate, timely financial information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 1–2 years of related accounting experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; D365/Power BI experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post routine journal entries, accruals, reclasses, freight adjustments, and other accounting adjustments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve differences.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and related tasks.
• Post daily batches in D365, including sales, cash, and accounts receivable activity.
• Support accounts payable activities and posting of weekly AP journal entries.
• Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation.
• Review account activity to identify unusual items and support explanations.
• Maintain records and assist with audits, process improvements, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Assist with Paycom payroll accounting as responsibilities expand.
