Tempus is seeking a Staff Accountant in Chicago to support day-to-day accounting, bank reconciliations, and month-end close processes. You will prepare financial statement analysis and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in accounting, a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field, and strong Excel skills. The role emphasizes internal controls and collaboration with the finance team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in an internship or accounting role.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Tax, Audit, or Finance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced MS Excel skills (LOOKUPs, PivotTables).
• Experience with Visual Basic and/or SQL is a plus.
• Excellent customer service, cooperative, and strong team player.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple work streams.
• Knowledge of GAAP; ability to deliver accurate output on time.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day accounting functions.
• Reconcile bank statements.
• Perform month-end close and financial statement analysis.
