Job summary

Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Staff Accountant on an entry to mid-level basis. The role focuses on maintaining the general ledger, managing payables and receivables, and ensuring proper documentation across several companies while supporting month-end closes and financial reporting.

Qualified candidates will have an accounting degree or related field, hands-on accounting concepts experience, and a strong grasp of GAAP. This position offers a solid foundation for growth within a dynamic firm.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills with great attention to detail.
• Solid grasp of GAAP principles.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate general ledger, manage accounts payable/receivable, and ensure proper documentation across multiple companies.
• Perform reconciliations for P&L, balance sheet, bank accounts, and fixed assets.
• Execute month-end close procedures and support audits and financial reporting.
• Prepare various financial reports and analyses to support strategic decision-making.
• For Senior level: lead complex problem-solving, oversee integrations and acquisitions, strengthen internal controls, and provide technical guidance to the accounting team.
