Job summary

The Intersect Group in Atlanta is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing team focused on accurate and timely financial close. You’ll manage month-end and year-end tasks, post journal entries, perform reconciliations, and assist with financial reporting and audits.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, solid GAAP knowledge, ERP experience, and strong analytical skills to identify process improvements and strengthen controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Staff Accountant or general accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• ERP/accounting system experience preferred; detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare and post journal entries and accruals.
• Complete balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Analyze account activity and research discrepancies.
• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and schedules.
• Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with AP, AR, and cash reconciliations as needed.
• Help prepare documentation for audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
