Job summary

ESAero in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a Staff Accountant to support month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance. This role emphasizes reconciliations, journal entries, GAAP adherence, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software such as NetSuite or SAP.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances or discrepancies.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and schedules.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accruals and prepaid expenses.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes as needed.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, policies and internal controls.
• Participate in audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial accuracy.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and streamline accounting operations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting through financial data analysis.
