Job summary

Luxury Mortgage Corp. in Stamford, CT, is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The role supports financial reporting, reconciliations, audits and close processes, reporting to the Controller.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills and experience in general accounting operations within mortgage banking. Key duties include journal entries, monthly reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and assisting with regulatory requests and consolidation with the parent

Qualifications

• BA in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 2-4 years of Accounting experience; mortgage banking a plus.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles.
• Proficiency in Excel, especially formulas.
• Experience with mortgage banking software: Advantage Systems, AMB, nCino and Encompass LOS.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process journal entries for financial transactions and loan-related activities.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and roll-forward procedures.
• Complete monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist the Controller with improving financial reporting, monthly close, and consolidation with the parent company.
• Support year-end audits and regulator audit requests.
• Reconcile commission applications to the LOS and track advances.
• Prepare and manage daily cash reports and cash reconciliations.
• Participate in ad-hoc accounting and financial projects.
