Job summary

Canopy Aerospace & Defense is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, and provide administrative support within the Finance & Accounting department. The role supports month-end and year-end closings, internal controls, and process improvements.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of relevant experience, with strong Excel skills and familiarity with NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience (AP/AR/GL exposure).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP).
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for recurring, adjusting, and accrual entries.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts including cash, prepaid expenses, and intercompany transactions.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings and reconciliations.
• Support preparation of internal financial statements and audit-ready schedules.
• Handle accounts payable: invoices, payments, vendor records, 1099s.
• Handle accounts receivable: invoices, payments, collections, and disputes.
• Maintain organized financial records and data entry for vendors, customers, and financial transactions.
