Staff Accountant: GAAP & Financial Analysis

Job summary

The Staff Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, support month-end close, prepare reconciliations, and assist with financial reporting in GAAP aligned processes.

This role partners with operational departments to provide financial support, analyze transactions, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.
• Microsoft Excel skills at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account adjustments.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and intercompany accounts.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and investigate account discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Perform variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Review and process fixed asset additions, disposals, depreciation, and asset tracking.
• Assist with inventory accounting and related reconciliations as required.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
• Assist with tax filings, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
