Los Angeles Philharmonic is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Los Angeles. The role supports routine accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and cash management in a not-for-profit environment.

Responsibilities include AP/AR review, month-end close support, audits, and strengthening internal controls. Requires a BS in accounting/finance and strong GAAP proficiency; experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, and Great Plains is a plus.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience in Accounting, Finance, and the not-for-profit industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and financial reporting support.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and related business systems; familiarity with Microsoft Copilot is preferred.
• Experience using Great Plains or a similar accounting system is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities with integrity, accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.

Responsabilidades

• General Accounting and Journal Entries: Prepare, review, and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, accruals, allocations, and reclassifications; maintain documentation.
• Account Reconciliations and Close: Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations; support month-end and year-end close; investigate variances.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses to support management decisions.
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable: Review AP invoices, ensure proper GL coding, and resolve discrepancies; assist with AR activities.
• Cash Management and Treasury Support: Prepare cash reporting; perform bank reconciliations; monitor cash activity.
• Audit Support and Internal Controls: Compile records for audits; maintain audit-ready reconciliations and schedules; communicate control concerns.
• Other Accounting and Department Support: Collaborate with departments, vendors, auditors, and others as needed.
