Job summary

American Golf Corporation is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Stamford, CT team. The ideal candidate will perform daily accounting tasks, assist in month-end close, and support audits with a strong business acumen.

You will handle GAAP-compliant financial statements, reconciliations, AP/AR processes, and contribute to process improvements while collaborating with internal teams and external partners. Proficiency in Excel and accounting software is required, and a Bachelor's in Accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and basic financial reporting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and timeliness.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to collaborate and support team goals.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger.
• Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for accuracy and timeliness.
• Help implement and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure data integrity.
• Assist with AP and AR processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to support business decision-making.
• Work with senior accounting staff during audits and prepare necessary documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, supporting tax advisors as needed.
• Contribute to accounting systems/process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Stay updated on accounting standards and best practices.
