American Golf Corporation is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Stamford, CT team. The ideal candidate will perform daily accounting tasks, assist in month-end close, and support audits with a strong business acumen.

You will handle GAAP-compliant financial statements, reconciliations, AP/AR processes, and contribute to process improvements while collaborating with internal teams and external partners. Proficiency in Excel and accounting software is required, and a Bachelor's in Accounting

• 1-3 years of accounting experience; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and basic financial reporting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for accuracy and timeliness.
• Help implement and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure data integrity.
• Assist with AP and AR processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to support business decision-making.
• Work with senior accounting staff during audits and prepare necessary documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, supporting tax advisors as needed.
• Contribute to accounting systems/process improvements and automation initiatives.

Job Purpose

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience with general accounting operations, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and audits. The role involves regular interaction with internal teams, external partners, and requires a strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger.
• Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Help implement and maintain financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure data integrity.
• Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports to support business decision-making.
• Work closely with senior accounting staff during audits and assist in preparing necessary documentation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, supporting tax advisors as needed.
• Contribute to the optimization of accounting systems and processes, including automation initiatives.
• Stay updated on accounting standards and best practices.

• Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods and occasionally lift or move office materials weighing up to 15 pounds.
