Job summary

Genuine Parts Company in Birmingham, Alabama, seeks an Accountant to perform GAAP-based accounting analysis for intermediate-complexity transactions. You will maintain general ledger accounts, prepare data for financial statements, and support quarterly and annual regulatory filings.

Under direct supervision, responsibilities include journal entries and month-end close, account reconciliation research, preparation of monthly/quarterly financial reports, variance analyses, and driving process

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
0–2 years of related accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Ensures completion of journal entries and month-end close activities.
Participates in account reconciliation research and clearance processes for products issued.
Assists in producing and reviewing monthly and quarterly financial reports, as well as annual financial statements.
Performs variance analysis and analytical procedures for assigned general ledger accounts.
Drive process change and process improvements
Performs other duties as assigned.
