Job summary

LHH is seeking a motivated accounting professional to join a growing finance team in Cincinnati. The role focuses on full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and close activities across a portfolio of entities.

You will prepare journal entries, reconcile GL accounts, analyze variances, support budgeting and forecasting, assist audits, and contribute to process improvements. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems, plus strong communication and teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 1 year of accounting experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Working knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with ERP or financial management software is beneficial.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn within a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close activities and maintain accurate financial records across assigned entities.
• Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, and recurring transactions.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
• Analyze financial data and explain fluctuations compared to budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
• Review bank activity, balance sheet accounts, and internal account transactions for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for management review.
• Maintain organized accounting documentation and support internal control procedures.
• Partner with internal departments to gather financial information and ensure accurate reporting of project and capital-related expenditures.
• Support cash management activities, including monitoring balances and assisting with funding requirements.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and other financial planning initiatives.
• Provide support during audits and assist with special projects as assigned.
• Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and reporting effectiveness.
