Job summary

LHH is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join its finance team in Cincinnati. The role collaborates with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain accurate records and support business operations.

The position offers a direct hire path with compensation between $50,000 and $65,000 per year. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of related experience, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of accounting experience including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close responsibilities.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with an ERP or financial management system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly accounting close activities and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Prepare and enter journal entries, including recurring transactions, accruals, and prepaid adjustments.
• Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
• Analyze financial results and explain fluctuations vs budgets, forecasts, and prior periods.
• Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts and other general ledger accounts.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain organized records and documentation per internal controls.
• Coordinate with departments to gather and validate information for reporting.
• Support tracking of capital projects and fixed asset activity.
• Assist with cash management duties, including monitoring balances and funding requests.
• Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Provide audits support and respond to requests from leadership.
• Suggest process improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency.
