• 3–5+ years of hands-on QuickBooks experience.

• Experience with AP, AR, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and P&L/balance-sheet accounts.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting activity and maintain accurate records in QuickBooks.
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable, including light collections.
• Process vendor invoices, customer payments, bank deposits, and approved payments.
• Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate P&L and balance-sheet accounts.
• Manage fixed-asset records, depreciation schedules, and notes-payable tracking.
• Record payroll information from ADP and support month-end/year-end activities.
• Keep accounting and back-office processes organized, responsive, and on schedule.

Greenway Recycling Services is looking for a Staff Accountant / Full-Charge Bookkeeper to take day-to-day ownership of its accounting functions and become a key back-office resource for a growing Southern California company. This is a hands-on role for someone who knows QuickBooks inside and out, understands the accounting behind the entries, and takes pride in keeping financial records accurate, current, and organized.

What You'll Own

In this role, you’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day accounting cycle, including:

• Managing accounting activity and maintaining accurate records in QuickBooks
• Handling accounts payable and accounts receivable, including light collections
• Processing vendor invoices, customer payments, bank deposits, and approved payments
• Completing monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintaining accurate P&L and balance-sheet accounts
• Managing fixed-asset records, depreciation schedules, and notes-payable tracking
• Recording payroll information from ADP and supporting month-end and year-end accounting activities
• Helping keep Greenway's accounting and back-office processes organized, responsive, and on schedule

What We’re Looking For

We’re less concerned with the exact title you’ve held and more interested in whether you know how to own the accounting function and keep it right.

You should bring:

• Strong hands-on QuickBooks experience, ideally 3–5+ years
• Solid general accounting knowledge and an understanding of GAAP
• Experience with AP, AR, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and both P&L and balance-sheet accounts
• Exceptional organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently, manage recurring deadlines, and follow through without constant supervision
• Clear, professional, and responsive communication
• Experience with ADP and fixed-asset accounting is helpful. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

The Details

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position based at Greenway's Riverside, California office, Monday through Friday. There is some flexibility in daily start and end times within Greenway's primary business hours.

Salary range: $68,000–$78,000 per year, depending on experience.
