Job summary

Staff Accountant role in a privately held company located in High Point, NC. The position supports a multi-division organization with roughly 90 employees and $40 million in annual revenue, handling hands-on general ledger work and daily accounting tasks.

You will collaborate with the Controller on month-end close, financial statement preparation, and balance sheet analysis, while supporting inventory accounting and cross-divisional reporting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on general ledger experience
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation
• Experience working with inventory is highly preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong Excel and overall technology skills
• Ability to learn new accounting and ERP systems quickly
• Manufacturing, distribution, construction, or other inventory-based industry experience is highly desirable
• Dependable, detail-oriented and hands-on approach

Responsibilities

• Support the Controller with day-to-day accounting activities and financial reporting
• Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements
• Help consolidate financial information across four separate business divisions
• Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activity
• Assist with balance sheet reporting and account analysis
• Support inventory accounting, reconciliations, and related reporting
• Identify discrepancies and help resolve accounting issues
• Help improve the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting
• Work closely with leadership and other departments to gather and analyze financial information
• Assist with accounting process improvements and cleanup projects
• Support the company's transition from its current Ponderosa ERP system to Spruce
• Utilize technology and accounting systems to improve efficiency and reporting
