Job summary

CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper for a Fort Worth, TX organization. This hybrid/remote-potential position offers flexible hours and a temporary role with potential to hire, with pay ranging from $25–$30 per hour.

The ideal candidate will handle journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, payroll support, and Excel-driven analysis, while maintaining accurate records and docs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Proficient in journal entries and reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills and data analysis.
• Ability to manage journal entries and month-end close independently.
• Experience with payroll processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and assist monthly close.
• Perform general ledger, balance sheet, cash, and AR reconciliations.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with accounts payable and receivable.
• Support payroll processing.
• Maintain accurate records and supporting docs.
• Use Excel to organize financial data and support processes.
• Assist with administrative tasks and process improvements.
