Job summary

CornerStone Professional Placement is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper for an established organization in Fort Worth, TX. This position handles journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end accounting, with strong Excel requirements and potential remote work after onboarding.

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and month-end close.
• Proficiency in Excel formulas and financial data analysis.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities with accuracy.
• Experience supporting payroll processing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with monthly financial close activities.
• Perform general ledger, balance sheet, cash, and accounts receivable reconciliations.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records.
• Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting functions as needed.
• Support payroll processing, including weekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles, based on experience.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Utilize Excel to organize financial data, perform reconciliations, and support accounting processes.
• Assist with administrative tasks and ongoing accounting process improvements.
