Job summary

Avery Dennison is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant, General Accounting to drive end-to-end accounting operations including fixed assets, SIP, and month-end close. The role partners with site managers and corporate reporting to ensure accurate financial results and SOX compliance, with occasional travel expectations.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in general accounting, strong US GAAP knowledge, and ERP experience (Sage, SAP, Oracle).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 1–2 years of progressive general ledger and general accounting experience in a mid-to-large corporate environment.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP (Fixed Assets, ASC 360, and Software Capitalization/ASC 350-40).
• Experience with SOX 404 compliance and ERP systems (Sage, SAP, Oracle).
• Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, pivot tables).

Responsibilities

• Oversee fixed asset accounting, recording additions, transfers, and disposals.
• Coordinate monthly asset activity with site managers and perform reconciliations.
• Manage SIP calculations and Day 1 journal entries for software capitalization.
• Execute month-end close procedures and post closing journal entries.
• Support audits and maintain documentation for internal controls.
