Base pay range

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our remote finance team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring financial accuracy across cash reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, thrives in a remote startup environment, and is excited to grow with a mission-driven company.

Responsibilities

• Daily Cash Reconciliation: Monitor and reconcile bank activity to ensure accurate and timely reporting
• Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Journal Entries: Prepare and post accurate journal entries in compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Accounts Payable: Manage vendor invoices, process payments, and respond to inquiries
• Month-End Close: Support month-end close, including accruals and general ledger analysis
• Audit Support: Assist in gathering documentation for internal and external audits
• Cross-functional Projects: Contribute to ad hoc projects and collaborate across departments as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of accounting experience (remote or multi-entity experience preferred)
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems)
• Advanced Excel skills, including experience with reconciliations and financial models
• Highly organized with strong time management and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a virtual setting

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA license or progress toward certification
• Experience with financial automation tools or systems integrations
• Prior experience in fintech, startups, or other high-growth environments
