Position Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Staff Accountant with direct experience in commercial real estate, especially multifamily assets, and strong expertise in multi-entity accounting structures. This role will work closely with our Controller to manage and maintain financial records across a portfolio of real estate entities and partnerships. Ideal candidates will be comfortable navigating the nuances of real estate fund structures and property-level accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain general ledgers for multiple entities, including property-level and corporate accounting

• Post transactions, reconcile bank accounts, and track accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P)

• Prepare monthly financial reports, variance reports, and property-level performance summaries

• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures

• Support asset management team with property performance data and accounting insight

• Collaborate with external CPA firms on tax planning, compliance, and annual filings

• Assist in onboarding new acquisitions and setting up accounting workflows for new investments

• Reconcile expense reports, corporate credit cards, and oversee cash flow across entities

• Coordinate with Controller on cash-flow forecasting and expense control

• Manage and maintain accurate records and documentation for all entities

• Financial modeling to support director in building systems for the accounting team

• Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and real estate accounting best practices

Requirements:

• Experience working with multi-entity structures

• 3–5+ years of accounting experience in commercial real estate, multifamily preferred

• Strong proficiency with accounting software (RealPage preferred)

• Advanced Excel skills; ability to work with financial models

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment

• Colorado or Northern California location strongly preferred
