Job summary

ARVA is seeking a Staff Accountant to maintain financial records, track assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and tax liabilities. The role supports the Financial Controller with daily tasks, reconciliations, and month-end processes in a US-based operation.

The position requires strong communication, organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software. A solid understanding of GAAP and tax reporting is essential for compliance and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
• Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Support the Financial Controller’s daily tasks by aiding with event management and planning; perform general cost accounting and related duties for the organization.
• Reconcile bank accounts monthly for multiple bank accounts and revenue streams.
• Ensure accuracy of processing and monitoring incoming payments; secure revenue by posting receipts.
• Maintain and reconcile customer accounts; manage accounts receivable collections and address customer inquiries.
• Create invoices according to company practices; submit invoices and statements to customers.
• Perform tip account reconciliations; investigate and resolve irregularities or enquiries.
• Obtain information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and up to date for AR ledgers and journals.
• Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information for annual audit.
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Assist Financial Controller with year-end financial audit.
