Job summary

TRISTAR seeks a Staff Accountant to provide day-to-day accounting support, including journal entries, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close tasks. This role partners with a dynamic finance team to support audits and special projects.

The successful candidate will have a degree in accounting (or related field) with 2 years of experience in accounting, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently while delivering accurate financial reporting. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; 2 years of relevant work experience
• Associate's degree in accounting or related field; 4 years of relevant work experience
• CPA certification is a plus; U.S. citizenship is required for DoD work
• Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills; ability to handle confidential information
• Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close processes

Responsibilities

• Maintain General Ledger and prepare journal entries and reconciliations
• Reconcile bank statements and perform treasury duties as needed
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable/billing through the financial system
• Assist with financial reporting, reconciliations, and audits
• Prepare supporting documentation for reconciliations and audit requests
