Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is partnering with a growing organization seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and contributing to the accuracy and integrity of financial operations.

$65,000 - $70,000 per year. Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and support for audits, with a focus on GAAP compliance and process improvement

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Experience with account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
• Analyze financial transactions and investigate account discrepancies.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Assist with financial reporting and management reporting packages.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
• Support external audits and provide requested documentation.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency.
