Job summary

Orbis Operations, headquartered in McLean, VA, seeks a well-rounded Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role offers hands-on experience across multiple accounting functions in a dynamic government contracting environment.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of hands-on accounting experience (GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations) and Deltek Costpoint expertise, plus a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Hybrid schedule with occasional travel possible.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of hands-on accounting across multiple functions (GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations).
• Minimum 2 years of direct experience with Deltek Costpoint.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and on time
• Process vendor invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments
• Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger
• Maintain vendor records and respond to payment inquiries
• Support implementation and maintenance of new AP system
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and supported
• Assist in the preparation of documentation for annual financial audits
• Maintain organized, audit-ready records for all areas of responsibility
