Job summary

Mach Energetics is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting across the organization. This role works closely with the Finance Director and the broader operations team to maintain accurate records and enable efficient business processes.

The candidate will manage data entry, reconciliations, budgeting support, and reporting for leadership and program teams, with emphasis on detail and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0–2+ years of accounting experience including internships or entry-level roles.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enter financial data within QuickBooks and internal accounting systems.
• Support accounts payable processes including invoice review, coding, and vendor coordination.
• Assist with account reconciliations, expense reporting, and transaction verification.
• Prepare and maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
• Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting activities.
• Assist with journal entries and financial data reviews under the guidance of the Finance Director.
• Track project costs, labor charges, and program-related financial activity.
• Generate reports and financial summaries for leadership and program teams.
• Review accounting data for discrepancies or inconsistencies and escalate issues as needed.
• Support budget preparation, forecasting activities, and internal financial analysis.
• Assist with audit preparation and collection of supporting financial documentation.
• Maintain spreadsheets, tracking systems, and finance-related administrative tools.
• Provide operational and administrative support to the finance organization as needed.
