Job summary

Arkansas Talent Group, partnering with an established manufacturing company in Batesville, Arkansas, is seeking a Staff Accountant/Cost Accountant to join the accounting team. The role welcomes both general accountants and those with cost accounting interest, with training available.

Key responsibilities include standard costing, GL maintenance, budgeting, fixed assets, AP/AR, bank reconciliations, audits, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP.
• Proficiency with Excel and accounting software.
• Experience in manufacturing or cost accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, cost rates, inventory, cost centers, and BOMs.
• Maintain the general ledger, perform reconciliations, and assist with month-end close.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial analysis reports.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset records and depreciation.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable activities, invoicing and collections.
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with annual audits and supporting schedules.
• Support accounting system maintenance and process improvements.

Arkansas Talent Group is partnering with an established manufacturing company in Batesville, Arkansas, to find a Staff Accountant/Cost Accountant to join their accounting team.

This opportunity welcomes both general accountants interested in developing manufacturing and cost accounting skills and experienced cost accountants who enjoy a broad, hands-on accounting role. Strong general accounting skills are essential; cost accounting experience is valued, but training is available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costing, manufacturing cost rates, inventory, cost centers, and bills of materials.
• Maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, and assist with month-end close.
• Prepare annual budgets, customer shipment forecasts, and monthly financial analysis reports.
• Manage fixed asset accounting, including asset records, depreciation, and reconciliations.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable activities, including invoice processing, customer account reconciliations, and collections.
• Perform bank reconciliations, verify deposits, and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with annual audits, including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
• Support accounting system maintenance and identify opportunities for process improvements.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Solid general accounting skills: general ledger, account reconciliations, and month-end close
• Working knowledge of GAAP and proficiency with accounting software and Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Helpful, but not required:

• Manufacturing or cost accounting experience (standard costing, inventory accounting, cost centers, BOMs)
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, or fixed assets
