Job summary

Lee Hecht Harrison Nederland B.V. is seeking a Staff Accountant for a contract-to-hire role in Portland, OR. The position offers remote/hybrid work during training and a flexible schedule between 20 and 40 hours per week. The hourly rate ranges from $31 to $36, depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will streamline accounting processes, support month-end close, and contribute to a scalable accounting environment under the guidance of an Accounting Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience with accounts payable and reconciliations.
• Strong month-end close and journal entry skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Willingness to support process improvement and documentation.
• Availability during Pacific Time business hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable processing using Ramp
• Review and reconcile corporate credit card transactions (300-500+ per month)
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries
• Calculate fixed asset amortization in Sage Intacct
• Support cash management and banking activities
• Document accounting processes and help establish SOPs and internal controls
• Improve workflows, checklists, and approval processes
• Partner with leadership on accounting cleanup and process improvement initiatives
• Expand into additional general ledger responsibilities: balance sheet reconciliations, P&L reviews, variance analysis, additional journal entries
