Job summary

Zabransky Mechanical Corporation in Little Ferry, NJ is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting, maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and assist with month-end close, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting for management.

Ideal candidates have 3–7+ years in accounting, preferably in construction, with strong Excel skills and the ability to work with external CPAs on audits and job costing.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 3–7+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger Accounting, Journal Entries, Reconciliations, Financial Reporting, Month-End Close, AP & AR.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Perform month-end close activities.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Manage payroll administration and related reports.
• Prepare monthly financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, trial balance, cash flow).
• Support construction/project costing and job costing activities.
• Assist with external CPAs and audits and tax preparation.
• Maintain vendor, customer, and employee master files.
