Berkshire Hathaway Shoe Holdings, Inc. seeks a Staff Accountant and Business Analyst to support daily, monthly, and quarterly close processes, manage GL entries, reconciliations, and routine reporting.

In this role you’ll assist with AP processing, intercompany invoicing, fixed asset maintenance, and ad hoc projects. You will develop a strong understanding of BH Shoe's operating metrics, sales flow, and day-to-day operations, translating financial data into actionable insights for management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in general accounting or a similar role.
• Strong foundation in general accounting, corporate finance, and financial statement analysis.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post daily income/sales entries and monthly journal entries, including accruals and prepaid expenses.
• Compile and analyze account information to prepare asset, liability, and accrual entries, and document transactions in the general ledger system.
• Download and reconcile merchant statements of account; research and resolve financial discrepancies.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and prepare related schedules and analysis.
• Compile monthly and weekly reports, including a financial statement analysis that flags trends and variances relevant to business decisions.
• Assist with quarterly balance sheet review, financial statement consolidation, and month-end variance analysis.
• Code and classify AP and other financial transactions; serve as AP processor.
• Review and prepare broker templates for ocean freight and duty.
• Prepare authorized refund vouchers and third-party brand payout disbursements, verifying monthly sales and return documentation.
• Process travel expense reports in Concur and serve as the AMEX administrator.
• Maintain fixed asset records in Thomson Reuters software.
• Handle intercompany invoicing and monthly reconciliations with sister divisions.
