Job summary

LHH partners with a North County San Diego organization to hire a Staff Accountant. This role offers exposure to general ledger, cash management, AR, intercompany, fixed assets, month-end close, financial reporting, and sales tax.

You’ll work with accounting and other departments, gaining visibility into broader financial operations while contributing to accurate financial statements and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; relevant experience considered.
• 2+ years accounting experience, with GL and month-end close exposure.
• Experience with ERP or larger accounting system.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with financial data.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Analytical/problem-solving mindset; good cross-department communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and GL activity.
• Reconcile cash activity and monitor daily cash positioning.
• Manage and reconcile balance sheet accounts including cash and AR.
• Support invoicing, payment application, collections, and AR reporting.
• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions across entities.
• Maintain customer account information and credit records.
• Assist with monthly financial statements and internal reporting.
• Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records.
• Prepare account reconciliations per internal controls.
• Assist with sales tax reconciliations and filings.
• Work cross-functionally to resolve accounting issues.
• Assist with special projects as the organization grows.
