Job summary

Colaska Inc. is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Anchorage office. The role focuses on journal entries, account reconciliations, and detailed reporting under the Assistant Corporate Controller, with potential progression to Senior Accountant based on performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other applicable field.
• At least 2 years of accounting work experience, preferably in construction/manufacturing.
• Knowledge of GAAP including Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting standards.
• Experience with enterprise construction industry software (JDE/Sage/Timberline) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Daily tracking and analysis of cash position.
• Involvement with developing weekly cash forecasts.
• Maintenance of new supplier and customer files.
• Fixed asset accounting and reconciliation.
• Lease accounting and reconciliation.
• Banking and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities alongside Assistant Controller to include journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial information to ensure integrity.
• Participate in external and internal audits, as required.
• 1099-MISC and fuel tax reporting.
• Ad hoc projects and additional financial reporting as needed.
