SiMa.ai is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our San Jose, CA team on a full-time, on-site basis. The role centers on supporting monthly close, payroll, AP/AR, billing, expenses, intercompany activity, and inventory reconciliations while exploring AI-driven automation to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
• 4+ years of accounting experience with US GAAP
• Proficient in Excel and data from multiple sources
• Familiarity with AI and automation in accounting workflows

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules for monthly and annual close
• Support payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer billing, employee expenses, intercompany accounting and inventory reconciliations
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve controls, document processes, and support system enhancements
• Use Excel, approved AI tools, and automation to streamline data preparation, reconciliations, and recurring reporting
• Analyze financial data, investigate discrepancies, and communicate findings clearly
• Assist with financial reporting, audits, and additional projects as business needs evolve
