The Staff Accountant at The Resort at Paws Up is responsible for accurate and timely accounting operations, focusing on accounts payable and general staff accounting duties, ensuring vendor invoices, journal entries, and reconciliations are properly recorded and reported.

You will support month-end close, 1099 reporting, audits, and maintain strong internal controls while communicating professionally with vendors and internal teams to uphold confidentiality and compliance.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• Three or more years of accounting experience, including substantial accounts payable experience, preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with accounting software required; Jonas Premier experience is a plus.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.

Responsabilidades

• Process vendor invoices, verify approvals, and ensure accurate general ledger and department coding.
• Maintain vendor records, onboard new vendors, and obtain required tax documentation.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve invoice, credit, and payment discrepancies.
• Monitor payment deadlines, vendor terms, available discounts, and accounts payable aging.
• Prepare and post journal entries with complete supporting documentation.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances in a timely manner.
• Prepare and distribute accurate daily accounting reports.
• Support month-end close, accounts payable accruals, annual 1099 reporting, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Communicate professionally with vendors and internal departments while following confidentiality and fraud-prevention controls.
