We are seeking a Staff Accountant II to perform various accounting duties with minimal supervision, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and tax laws. This role involves collaborating with managers to identify areas for improvement and may include supervisory responsibilities.

This position requires residence in the Phoenix Metro Area; relocation assistance will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Accounts Payable, including managing and developing direct reports
• Review invoice coding and coordinate payments
• Coordinate with departments for proper coding and reconciliation
• Perform quarterly and year-end tasks, including 1099s and unclaimed property filings
• Participate in monthly closing, analyze reserves and accruals, and prepare journal entries
• Reconcile accounts to the general ledger
• Assist with other accounting responsibilities and handle overflow tasks
• Assist with physical inventories, cycle counts, and related tasks
• Work proactively with internal and external departments to ensure proper accounting and resolve issues
• Mentor and supervise clerical staff, leading by example

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least 4 years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software (MS AX)
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Manufacturing or public accounting experience preferred
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Non-nicotine user (company policy)
