Job description

Join our team as a Staff Accountant and play a pivotal role in supporting our financial goals. Our culture is fast-paced but supportive, so you must be able to work hand-in-hand with your peers and the departments around you. Delivering the highest level of accounting support to guests, vendors and other departments is a must.

Do you want to join one of the best places to work in hospitality?

What’s the role?

Staff Accountant

This is a cross-trained, full-cycle accounting role. Rather than owning a single function, the Staff Accountant rotates across and supports income audit, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash handling and general ledger activities — flexing to wherever the Finance team needs support most.

Who We Are…

The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.

After launching The Ned London in 2017, we are proud to have opened Ned’s Club in the US capital in 2025, our fourth and newest location.

The Property…

Ned’s Club Washington DC is a members’ club set over three floors of a neoclassical style building situated within President’s Park at 734 15th Street NW.

The Riggs Building sits opposite the US Treasury and was constructed in 1930. The 12-storey building is located around the corner from the White House and sits above the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream, formerly the historic Riggs Bank Corcoran branch.

The Club has a Rooftop Terrace and Loft Restaurant with views overlooking the White House, US Treasury and Washington Monument, plus a Founder’s Dining Room, The Library, Drawing Room, Gallery and Conservatory. On level nine, there is a self-contained floor of private event spaces.

As part of the Finance team, you will play a key role in:
Income Audit & Revenue
  • Performing the daily income audit and reconciliation of all revenue streams, including rooms, food & beverage, membership and ancillary outlets, ensuring completeness and accuracy between systems
  • Completing the daily income journal and reconciling daily activity across PMS, POS, accounting and sales systems, investigating and resolving variances
  • Performing daily cash and credit card reconciliations
Accounts Payable
  • Ensuring that invoices and payments are processed according to company policy and procedures
  • Working closely with the Purchasing Manager to create a processing flow that ensures purchase orders correspond with invoices and are processed in a timely manner

  • Maintaining vendor documentation required for 1099 processing
  • Maintaining strong relationships with vendors and responding to and resolving inquiries in a timely manner
Accounts Receivable & Chargebacks
  • Managing accounts receivable, including invoicing, billing accuracy, aging review, collections follow‑up and resolution of member, guest and corporate account discrepancies
  • Administering and tracking all credit card chargebacks and disputes, including research, documentation, response submission and coordination with processors and internal teams to drive timely resolution
Month End & General Ledger
  • Supporting the month end closing process, including timely reconciliation of the checkbook, vendor statements and month end accruals
  • Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts
  • Preparing the monthly intercompany billback and reconciliation
Team & Cross‑Functional Support
  • Championing accounting policies and procedures by partnering with department heads and influencing consistency
  • Collaborating with various departments and team members in completing assigned projects
  • Supporting colleagues across the Finance team and contributing to financial functions beyond primary responsibilities as business needs evolve; performing other duties as assigned
What you can bring to the role:
  • A friendly and positive approach towards our team and your work
  • 1+ years of experience in a fast‑paced, professional environment
  • Previous experience across accounting functions (accounts payable, accounts receivable or income audit) within the hospitality industry is preferred
