Job summary

Alltus, a fully remote software company serving local governments, seeks an accounting professional to manage General Ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end close. You will join a globally distributed team and help ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.

You will work with GAAP (ASC 606) and SaaS revenue recognition, maintain Salesforce billing alignment, and support audits and tax processes. Strong attention to detail and process ownership are essential.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of accounting experience; SaaS or subscription business experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, including accrual accounting and revenue recognition (ASC 606).
• Experience with QuickBooks Online or a similar accounting system.
• Salesforce experience is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Organized, dependable, and comfortable owning recurring deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Record journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts each month.
• Prepare customer invoices, apply payments, manage collections, and keep deferred revenue schedules up to date. Prepare RevOps reporting.
• Process vendor invoices and payments, manage the company credit card workflow, review employee expenses for policy compliance, and maintain vendor records, including 1099 tracking.
• Prepare accruals, prepaids, deferrals, and COGS entries. Complete account reconciliations and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Track daily cash activity and reconcile cash accounts
• Maintain customer records, contracts, and commission data in Salesforce, and keep billing and accounting systems in sync.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns, monitor payroll tax filings, and maintain state filings and registrations.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documents for the annual audit, tax returns, and external reporting.
• Process mail, organize files, and keep accounting records complete and audit-ready.
• Take on additional tasks and projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities And Impact
