Job summary

American Integrity Insurance Group in Tampa, FL, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily transaction processing, month-end close, and financial reporting. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile ledgers, manage payables, and assist with audits in a collaborative team environment.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in accounting/finance, 1–5 years of staff accounting experience, and familiarity with internal controls. Prior insurance experience is highly desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a four-year institution.
• 1–5 years of staff accounting experience, insurance carrier experience preferred.
• Experience with internal controls and financial reporting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable including invoices, approvals, and payment batches.
• Daily and monthly transaction matching in Blackline to support GL reconciliations.
• Maintain internal controls and supporting documentation.
• Review employee reimbursements in SAP Concur.
• Prepare GAAP and STAT financial reports.
• Prepare audit workpapers and support audit requests.
• Assist and back up finance and accounting functions as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Brief Summary

Title: Staff Accountant

You’ll Report To: General Accounting Manager

The Staff Accountant supports daily transaction processing, month-end close activities, financial reporting, and the preparation of financial statements.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare journal entries and complete balance sheet reconciliations as part of general ledger responsibilities.


• Manage accounts payable accurately and on time, including entering invoices, securing approvals, and submitting payment batches for review and approval.


• Daily and monthly transaction matching in Blackline Systems to support general ledger reconciliations.


• Follow internal controls and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.


• Review employee reimbursement submissions in SAP Concur


• Prepare financial and other reports related to GAAP and STAT filings.


• Prepare assigned audit workpapers and support audit requests.


• Assist and provide backup support for finance and accounting functions as needed.


• Maintain job knowledge through educational and professional development opportunities.


• Complete special projects and other assigned duties.

What You’ll Need to be a Top Candidate

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a four-year institution.

Experience: One (1) to Five (5) years of staff accounting experience, preferred. Prior experience with an insurance carrier is strongly desired.

Skills & Knowledge:

• Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), required.


• Blackline Systems experience with close management, reconciliations and/or transaction matching modules, preferred.


• IAS / FIS Global - Enterprise Accounting System (EAS), formerly known as SunGard, experience, preferred.


• Guidewire InsuranceNow experience, preferred.


• SAP Concur experience, preferred.


• Effective communication skills.


• Exceptional organization skills.


• Meticulous, committed to professionalism.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm, full-time in-office. #LI-Onsite.

Working Conditions: Normal business office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers.

Travel: Minimum, as required.
