MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in St. Louis, MO. The role focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP compliance to support month-end and year-end closes.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accountancy, GL experience, and proficiency with Excel and MS Office. This is an hourly full-time position offering competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with General Ledger accounting is required.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
• Proficient in MS Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and corporate accounting tasks.
• Maintain the general ledger through posting transactions and entries.
• Implement and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in reviewing financial transactions and statements.
• Conduct general ledger maintenance and aid with month-end closing.
• Assist with the completion of month-end, annual budget, and year-end audits.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and meet deadlines, even in demanding situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
