Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill Industries is seeking a Recycling & Warehouse Associate to support our Bannister team. You will unload shipments, process donations, and prepare items for shipment while maintaining accurate inventory and adhering to safety standards.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated with strong communication and organization skills; no degree is required, HS diploma preferred. This is an hourly full-time role with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
• Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Handle all donations with care and respect.
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move products to designated areas.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report quality variances.
• Pull and prepare products for shipment; load exact numbers and product types.
• Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.
• Move product from staging into trailers and storage areas.
• Sort donated and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online, salvage, trash.
• Operate machinery safely to tip or compact products for sale or recycling.
• Maintain high quality and quantity standards while working quickly.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with team members and leadership.
• Keep a clean, neat work area; assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain records to ensure tight inventory control and security.
• Protect company property and personal information; report theft or misconduct.

• Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and product type are loaded and shipped.
• Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
• Efficiently move product from staging and storage areas into trailers.
• Sort donated goods and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, salvage, and trash, according to established guidelines.
• Use machinery safely and appropriately to tip or compact designated products for sale or recycling.
• Maintain high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
• Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
• Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security.
• Safeguard company property and personal information from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft, misappropriation, unethical/inappropriate behavior, or unauthorized possession of company property to a member of management, Human Resources, Risk Management, or employee hotline.
• Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.
