Qualifications

• No degree is required. High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
• Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population.
• Necessary math skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers, assist on sales floor, and answer the phone within three rings with a professional greeting.
• Weigh or measure purchases and operate cash register including cash handling and card transactions; process discounts and balance cash drawer.
• Maintain store cleanliness by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and surfaces shining.
• Foster positive, professional relationships with team members and leadership.
• Follow safe work practices, keep aisles clear, and report hazards.
• Present a neat, professional appearance per dress code.
• Safeguard agency assets from theft or loss and report incidents.
• Adhere to policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities

• Make customers a priority by greeting and acknowledging them as they enter the store, helping on the sales floor, and answering the phone within three rings with a professional greeting.


• Accurately weigh or measure customer’s purchases.
  Operates the store cash register: cash handling credit card transactions, appropriate discount returns, and cash register balancing.


• Upholds store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.


• Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership.


• Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation and contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.


• Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.


• Safeguards agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.


• Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.


• All other duties as assigned.
